Processing of personal data in Valmet Partner Academy

The purpose of processing is to store contact information and training results of course participants in Valmet Partner Academy.

The data is controlled by Valmet Oyj.  The purpose of processing is to store contact information and training results of course participants in Valmet Partner Academy. This data includes the mandatory data necessary for setting up a learning account.  The personal data of individual users is provided by the Valmet partner.

The legal basis for the processing is legitimate interests pursued by the controller.  It is in Valmet’s interest to make sure that Valmet Partners has the necessary mandatory training in Partner Academy before working at site or at a Valmet location. The data items processed includes names of the users, email addresses, and it might also include their companies and other contact details such as country and language. Usernames and passwords are processed for authentication and authorization.

The data may be accessed by relevant personnel within the Valmet group, as well as data processors Valmet is contracting for supporting its business. By default, the data will be stored in the EU. However, when needed, the data may be accessed by Valmet personnel from outside of the EU. EU Model Clauses are used as appropriate safeguards for the access from outside of the EEA. The data will be stored until the Valmet Partner want it removed. The reason to store the data for a longer time is to facilitate future Valmet onboarding.

Valmet will support the applicable data subject’s rights. This includes their rights of access to, rectification of, or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the data subject or to object to processing. The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (data protection authority).
